Mark A. Javier is the Secretary of the Asian American Action Fund of Greater Chicago.  Mark serves as the President of The Javier Law Firm, PC, owning and operating a solo general practice law office concentrating on criminal defense.  Previously, he was Assistant General Counsel at the Illinois Department of Public Health where he was primarily responsible for litigating nursing home code violations and advising on various other health code related actions.  Before that, Mark was a Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney where he prosecuted criminal offenses ranging from traffic violations, misdemeanor cases, DUIs, and felony cases.
Mark is a board member of the Asian American Bar Association of Greater Chicago where he deliberates and votes on various board actions to advance the functions of AABA, and has chaired several committees and developed various events, including evaluating candidates for judicial office.  He is on the board of Asian Americans Advancing Justice Chicago and deliberates board actions and provides fundraising assistance.  Mark also served as the first President of the Filipino American Lawyers Association of Chicago, leading the board in creating an organizational structure that serves as the foundation of future FALA activity and initiatives.  Furthermore, he serves on the Chicago Bar Association Judicial Evaluation Committee investigating and evaluating judicial candidates and providing recommendations as to their qualifications for the bench.  Mark serves on the Secretary of State Asian Advisory Council.  Mark is a graduate of The John Marshall Law School, earning his Juris Doctor in 2006, after earning his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance from The University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002.  He is currently admitted to the following bars:  Illinois State Bar, United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and Washington State Bar.  Mark is a current resident of the Northside of Chicago.
